Abstract :
This paper is aimed to discuss the historical development of the Indonesian language and nationalism, particularly in the New Order. This paper's conclusion is that the New Order obviously developed the practices of euphemism, sarcasism, Javanese style in its political jargons, in maintaining the hegemony of state over society.
