Abstract :
The environment quality of biophysic and human culture are essential to tourism. Tourism has thepotential to create beneficial effects on the environment by contributing to environmental protection andconservation. It is a way to raise awareness of environmental values and could serve as a tool forprotection of natural areas and increase their economic importance. Baluran national park at Situbondo,East Java has many potency on natural diversity which can be such fascination for tourists. These potencydevelopment through ecotourism development based on community could giving the local communityeconomic value, education, interpretation on conservation. The aim of study is describe the potentialresources of biogeophysic and the community, also to finds out what is the positive and negative factorswhich are influence the to develop ecotourism.This research used combination of qualitative andquantitative descriptive method. Data collecting through inventarisation of Baluran national park potency,in-depth interview and questionnaire to local community. This research found that the biophysic resourceswas potential to develop as ecotourism product. The potency of biodiversity and the landscape weresuitable to develop as ecotourism product based on scoring method. These research were also found somefactors that will support the ecotourism development such as the willingness on local community, goodunderstanding on tourism benefit, and no cultural obstacle. Beside supporting factors, it also found thatsome factor will restraint the development process such as low skill of human resource, the absence ofassisting institution, lack of capital (money), and legal factor of the local people status.
