Abstract :

Indonesian students were not the majority of voters but their political attitudes and behavior in the election were more rational, critical and pragmatic. This might be the reason that some of them did not take part during the election. This research aimed to analyze the behavior and social-political attitudes of Indonesian students in the presidential election of 2009. This research used sociological approach and symbolic interaction and social exchange theories. Using random sampling technique out of total respondents 299 people with a margin of sampling error of 5 percent on 95 percent confidence level, the research found that behavioral and socio-political attitudes of students was very unique and unpredictable.
