Abstract :

ABSTRACT :   Hyperurisemia is a condition when uric acid level in blood above normal value. It is caused by increasing of uric acid production or decreasing of uric acid excretion, 90% of hyperurisemia caused by decreasing of uric acid excretion. Pyrazinamide is one of first line drugs for anti-tuberculosis, more than one-third people worldwide has tuberculosis. Two million people died because of tuberculosis every year. A cohort retrospective study revealed, one of 4 major side effects in tuberculosis theraphy is hyperurisemia that is induced by pyrazinamide. Mechanism, diagnosis and management of pyrazinamide induced hyperurisemia in tuberculosis patients are important to be known.
