Abstract :

Isu radikalisme dan terorisme tampaknya sering diberitakan selama 10 tahun terakhir ini. Banyak pihak mengembangkan spekulasi secara tendensius bahwa terorisme berpangkal dari fundamentalisme dan radikalisme agama, terutama Islam. Namun demikian, tidak sedikit pula yang percaya bahwa motif radikalisme  dan  terorisme  tidaklah  bersumber  dari  aspek  yang  tunggal.  Permasalah  utama  yang akan diangkat dalam kajian ini adalah bagaimana strategi penanganan yang perlu disiapkan dalam rangka memutus rantai radikalisme dan terorisme di Indonesia. Metode deskriptif analitis digunakan dengan  cara  mendeskripsikan  fakta-fakta  dan  menganalisisnya.  Sumber  data  berasal  dari  studi pustaka berasal dari berbagai media baik cetak maupun online dan buku-buku teks yang membahas tentang  terorisme  di  Indonesia  pascakejadian  pemboman  di  WTC  Amerika  Serikat  11  September 2001.  Untuk menganalisis isu, penelitian ini menggunakan perspektif sejarah perubahan institusi sosial masyarakat. Peran negara dalam menjamin rasa aman warga negara menjadi demikian vital. Karena itu, beragam peristiwa yang melahirkan ketidakamanan seperti teror peledakan bom perlu mendapat perhatian tersendiri. Beberapa agenda strategis yang dapat disiapkan untuk menangani radikalisme dan terorisme, antara lain reformasi sektor keamanan, pembenahan regulasi keamanan, reorientasi pendidikan, dan kampanye sosial-kultural secara massif.Kata kunci: keamanan negara, radikalisme, strategi, terorismeAbstractThe issues of radicalism and terrorism have frequently been reported in the last 10 years. A number of people seem to develop tendentious speculation that terrorism stems from fundamentalism and religious radicalism, especially Islam. However, not a few believe that the motives of radicalism and terrorism are not from a single aspect. The key problem raised in this study is finding strategies that need to be prepared in order to break the chain of radicalism and terrorism in Indonesia. Descriptive analytical method was used in this research by describing the facts and analyzing them. Sources of data derived from the literature were both print and online media and text books that discuss terrorism in Indonesia after the WTC bombing in the United States on 11 September 2001. In order to analyze the issues, this study used historical perspective on changes of social institutions. The state’s role in ensuring the security of citizens becomes vital. Therefore, a variety of events that leads to insecurity, such as bombing terror, needs to get special attention. Some strategic agenda that can be prepared to  deal  with  radicalism  and  terrorism,  among  others,  are  security  sector  reform,  reform  security regulations, reorientation of education and socio-cultural campaign massively.Keywords: radicalism, state security, strategy, terrorism
