Abstract :

Student of the high school are included in the search category level information in adolescents. Usually they tend to labile and less can select the appropriate information and beneficial for consumption information suitable for their needs. This phenomenon is interesting to information and channel information mapped type commonly used by high school student. This study took a sample of high school in surabaya, with quantitative and qualitative diskriptif research method .This method is expected can give an overview of the phenomenon of the type of information and channels the information to the needs of high school students  Based on the research with the use 100 respondents provide an illustration that the highest number of information related to entertainment and the need for information will be further education after graduation .The fact that the highest is the worlds of entertainment , also confirms that stress / copying to the needs of entertainment information , health , religious , capacity building , fashion / fashion , a hobby, further education , the completion of a school task , the preparation of articles / papers, understanding / a new idea , the government policy , the condition of school , extracurricular , local information about surabaya, and current events the majority of faced by at a leisurely pace. Mostly high school students who felt challenged in menelusur information is to meet the needs of information work and research.While the channel to the utilization of information to the needs of high school students in surabaya most schools use media and the internetThe power of internet media information turns out to be more active.This was possible because the form and the content of the information presented in internet media more in accordance with the needs of information as high school students as for entertainment and information in the aftermath of seeking high school.
