The effect of acupuncture on sodium, potassium, and chloride blood plasma in thoroughbred horse after exercise

Abstract :

Kuda kehilangan sodium, potassium, dan klorida setelah latihan. Akupuntur dapat membantu mengatasi ketidakseimbangan elektrolit. Titik akupuntur yang digunakan adalah Spleen (SP) 6/ San Yin Jiao, Stomach (ST) 36/ Zu San Li, Bladder (BL) 13/ Fei Shu, Bladder (BL) 15/ Xin Shu, and Pericardium (PC) 6/ Nei Guan. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan April sampai Mei di Emporium Horse Club Kenjeran dan penentuan kadar elektrolit telah dilakukan di Laboratorium Patologi Klinik Rumah Sakit DR. Soetomo Surabaya. Terdapat delapan kuda yang digunakan sebagai kontrol (P0) dan setelah seminggu kemudian digunakan sebagai perlakuan (P1). P0 tidak diberikan perlakuan dan P1 diberikan perlakuan laser akupuntur selama 5 hari sebelum latihan. Pengujian elektrolit dalam plasma darah menggunakan Dimension® Rxl Max dengan metode ISE. Data ditampilkan menggunakan SPSS 20.0 for Windows dengan uji T berpasangan. Perbandingan statistik antara P0 dan P1 menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan pada potassium; P0: 3.53 ± 0.167 mmol/ L dan P1: 3.43 ± 0.167 mmol/ L, tetapi terdapat perbedaan pada sodium; P0: 134.38 ± 1.506 mmol/ L dan P1: 132.00 ± 1.927 mmol/ L dan klorida; P0: 104.63 ± 1.188 mmol/ L dan P1: 102.38 ± 3.249 mmol/ L. Akupuntur berhasil menurunkan kadar sodium dan kloride yang tinggi yang mengarah pada penyakit hipertensi serta menyebabkan retensi dari potassium.
