Abstract :
Deliberative public policy has been judged to be relevant to the context of Indonesia that is facedwith the problem of public distrust to the government. It is also relevant because Indonesia isimproving the implementation of decentralization policy and its people are communal. Theemergence of the concept of deliberative public policy cannot be separated from, on the onehand, the orientation shift of public administration studies from ‘government’ to ‘governance’,and on the other hand, the derivational forms of the deliberative democracy. In its application inIndonesia, the concept is facing many challenges, some of which are lack in policy coherence,weak civil society, and low competence of human resources. Therefore, students of publicadministration are encouraged to conduct studies that not only have academic significance butalso contribute solutions to these problems
