Abstract :

Abstract: Premarital sexual behavior is considered as result of lack information about reproductive health. Internet makes it easy to adolescents in accessing variety information. This study was conducted to determine 1) the level of knowledge before and after the intervention 2) the differences in knowledge of respondents before and after intervention 3) Facebook effect on the knowledge. This research was carried out with pre experimental design using one group pre-test post-test design. This study consisted of making Facebook group, discussing about reproductive health, and filling questionnaires. Questionnaires conducted before and after the intervention. Intervention was a discussion on reproductive health in Facebook group for 14 days. Questionnaires conducted by 52 respondents. Respondents were from one of Junior High Scholl in Gubeng, Surabaya. This study used Facebook as independent variable. This study used knowledge as dependent variable. The result of this study were the level of knowledge before intervention was in the medium category. The level of knowledge after intervention was in the good category. T-test showed that there were significant differences in knowledge (p < 0.05). Linear regression showed that the Facebook had effect on knowledge (p = 0.002). The conclusion that can be drawn from this study was respondents’ knowledge had significant differences. Respondents’ knowledge after intervention increased than before intervention. Facebook had effect on knowledge. Keywords: facebook, reproductive health, adolescent, knowledge
