Abstract :

Abstract: Nowadays HIV and AIDS are not only suffered by community at risk such as commercial sex workers, injecting drug users, lesbian, gay and shemale. The number of HIV dan AIDS patients increase in housewifes. Most of them were infected by their husbands. The case of HIV and AIDS in housewife can increase HIV and AIDS case in children. This research described about the resilience of housewife suffered HIV and AIDS to face their illness. In this research there are 9 informans that have been interviewed to get information about how their life as sufferer of HIV and AIDS. The aim of this research described about the resilience of housewife suffered HIV and AIDS to face their illness. The method used in this research is triangulation, discussed by expert and focuss group discussion. The result showed that the factors that shape the resilience of housewives with HIV and AIDS is a life experience as people living with HIV and AIDS can make it able to adapt and maintain health, and external factors affecting access to health facilities are within easy reach and the participation of people living with HIV and AIDS support groups, in addition to the self-management in the form of higher confidence to face the existing problems. Conclusion of this research was experience as HIV and AIDS patients make them adapt with their problems. The existance of social supports from their environmets and health facility that could be reach by them to get treatment. Whereas from their selves as HIV and AIDS patients, they have hopes and desires which they still alive and survive although they suffer HIV and AIDS forever.
