Abstract :
Abstrak Indonesia merupakan negara berkembang dengan masalah kepadatan penduduk peringkat empat dunia. Usaha yang dilakukan untuk menekan pertumbuhan penduduk melalui Keluarga Berencana. Sebagai upaya mensukseskan Keluarga Berencana dengan mengembangkan bahan baku antifertilitas bahan alam dari pepaya. Tujuan penelitian ini mempelajari efek ekstrak etanol biji pepaya terhadap antifertilitas pada mencit betina. Manfaat penelitian ini memberi informasi tentang manfaat ekstrak etanol biji pepaya sebagai antifertilitas pada hewan dan memberi alternatif ekstrak etanol biji pepaya sebagai obat kontrasepsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control group. Sampel diambil secara acak. Variabel bebas adalah ekstrak etanol biji pepaya dalam berbagai dosis. Variabel dependen adalah angka fertilisasi. Analisis data untuk menentukan angka fertilisasi dilakukan dengan uji ANAVA satu arah. Pemberian ekstrak etanol dari biji pepaya dalam dosis 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 300mg/kg menunjukkan penurunan angka fertilisasi dan tidak ada perbedaan angka fertilisasi antar perlakuan setelah memperoleh ekstrak etanol biji pepaya. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari nilai p = 0,000 α = 0,0. Pemberian ekstrak etanol biji pepaya adalah menyebabkan infertilitas, menurunkan angka fertilisasi pada tikus betina. The purpose of this research was to study the effects of ethanol extract of papaya seeds on antifertility in female rats. The benefits of this research was to provide information about the use of ethanol extract of papaya seeds as antifertility in animals and make ethanol extract of papaya seeds as an alternative contraceptive drug. This study used post-test only control group design. Samples were taken in random. The independent variable was ethanol extract of papaya seeds in various doses. The dependent variables were folliculogenetic examination, increase infertility, decresed quality egg and fertilization number. Data analysis to determine the different mean number of follicles, increase infertility, decresed quality egg and fertilization number weer performed with one-way ANAVA test. Ethanol extract of papaya seeds in dose of 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg decrease fertilization number and no difference in fertilization number. It is shown from the value of p = 0.000 α = 0.05. Ethanol extract of papaya seeds is infertility, decrease fertilization number, causing infertility in female rats.
