Abstract :

This paper describes that female parliament members in Yogyakarta province tend to be passive during  parliament meetings. Some are lack of self-convidence to share and struggle for their ideas. This paper explores how of political education that  the NGOs and political parties have done for improving women political capasity. This paper shows that almost all NGOs focused their programmes on women voter education, while the political parties focused on legal drafting and budgetting training. This paper suggests that there should be an alternative model for empowering the women legislators by stressing on communication skill, self confidence, women’s issues, and networking.
