Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to know correlation between parent's social support and commitment to task (task commitment) of acceleration students in the high school level. The participants of this study were acceleration students in the high school (using technique of total population study). It is used Product Moment correlation technique using SPS-2000 which show the correlation coefficient score rxy = 0.531 with (p) 0.000 to be p <0.01 (significant). This indicates the correlation between parent's social support and commitment to task (task commitment) acceleration students in the high school level. The effective contribution of parent's social support with commitment to task (task commitment) is 28.2%, so there are still 71.8% other variables not examined in this study , such as ideals or aspirations of students, students' abilities, condition of students, condition of physical environment and social environment (friends), the dynamic elements in learning, learning process, and teachers efforts to teach the students.
