Abstract :
ASEAN Connectivity is a vital element in the development of the ASEAN Community 2015. Connectivity underlying the main point of interaction, both between ASEAN member countries, as well as between member states and other countries. Master plan on ASEAN Connectivity has been established and ratified by all member countries, including Indonesia. But when the master plan apparently less inclined to accommodate the interests of its member states, there seems no reason to support it. But the fact shows that Indonesia remains support it that will strengthen the integration of the ASEAN Community. The author want to find out the reason of Indonesia’s support towards ASEAN Connectivity by the explanatory study based on constructivism. The conclusion is the transformation of Indonesia’s policy in ASEAN identity recognize the importance of collective identity, which can change the Indonesia’s policy towards ASEAN to uphold common interests, beside retaining the fundamental interests. The implication is though Indonesia does not reach the optimal material gain from the ASEAN Connectivity, Indonesia continues to support it on the basis of collective identity equation.
