The efec of progresive relaxation techniques to clients who pain caused glaucoma diseases

Abstract :

The aim of research was knowing effectivity of progresive relaxation technique in clients who has pain by glaocoma disease. It the begiuning, crass sectinal method was used. Research SEHEDULE WAS June 2nd to September 30th 2003 at the Ophthalmology room of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. The population of research ware 31 clients who has any level of pain by glaucoma or at lleast intra-ocular pressure signed. The research design was One Group Pre-Post Test Design Pain level was Assessing onlaeh client by guston-Johanson and Asklund-Gustafson pain scale. Theve fore, assesssing pain scale was implemented before and after progresive relaxtion technique.The data of glaucoma disease clients before implemented of progresive relaxtion technique with severe pain, metode pain and low pain were 26 (84%), 5 (16%) and 0 (0%) respectively instead of after implemented its technique the data become 4 (13%), 19 (62%) and 2 (6%), respectively Statistical analysis using wilcoxon Signed Rank Test Base on level of confidence 95% shows significantly result on α = 0,00001 and P ≤ 0,05 However, Progresive relaxtion technique was effective for clients, who has pain by glaucoma disease.The aim of research was knowing effectivity of progresive relaxation technique in clients who has pain by glaocoma disease.
