Abstract :
Abstract Have been done research to use Kutorejo Mojokerto clay as buffer isolation material for industrial product in pore composite clay-CMC (carboxymethyl celluloce). Composition of pore composite clay-CMC have been made throught three phases, that is making clay-CMC sole with adding clay-CMC with weight ratio 10 : 90, 20 : 80, 30 : 70, 40 : 60, 50 : 50, 60 : 40, 70 : 30, 80 : 20, and 90 : 10 into aquades with weight ratio 1 : 9 and then homogenous with magnetic stirrer (Otha, 1995). Freezing clay-CMC sole in mixture of dry ice-alkohol and drying in vacum decicator that is conducted by vacum pump (0,75 – 0,9 kW). The result of research obtained pore composite clay-CMC that used to buffer isolation of industrial product with compressive strength more than polystyrene (0,5 N/mm2) if composition CMC > 50% even in composition CMC 60% had compressive strenght value the highest between weight ratio clay : CMC that was determined, taht is 1,0266 N/mm2. The optimum freezing rate 2,55 10-2 mL/s used mixture dry ice-alkohol in ratio 100 g : 5 mL where shape and pore size still not yet homogenous caused hard to optimalized work of vacum pump.
