Cavernous hemangioma of the urinary bladder

Abstract :

A 14 year old boy had suffered from gross intermittent painless hematuria since 4 month before admission.  The plain abdominal film showed calcification in bladder area. The sonographic examination showed mass in antero-superior urinary bladder wall. A cystoscopic examination revealed an exophytic mass in the anterior urinary bladder wall with the biopsy result is urothelial papilloma. A transcutaneus resection was performed and then was converted to a partial cystectomy because the mass was solid and not mucosal.    The specimen measures about 5,5 x 3,5 x 2 cm with pathologic result is cavernous hemangioma. The patient recovered with no complications encountered.
