Nephrolithiasis in ectopic kidney

Abstract :
A 53 years old male had suffered from dull pain in lower umbilical region, which was accompanied by anorexia, fatigue and dysuria since 4 month before admission. Vital sign is within normal limit. On physical examination, there was tenderness at the lower umbilical area. Laboratory findings showed kidney function within normal limit. The sonographic examination showed normal right kidney and bladder, but there is no left kidney appearance. The intravenous urography showed an ectopic pelvic nephrogram in the left aspect of the midline. There was opaque stone appearance on the pelviocaliceal system of left kidney. The stone measures about 1,5 x 1,5 x 1 cm. Either computerized tomography (CT) abdomen showed ectopic pelvic kidney in the left aspect of sacro-illiac join. The stone was treated with pyelolithotomy through midline infra umbilical incision. One week after surgery, the patient recovered with no complications encountered
