Abstract :

At present the reading activities of Conan Comics have become a cultural trend of the activities of young people. Conan's comic reading which is identical to this mystery is also able to make young people interested so that they like the reading. It can be seen that Conan's comic reading has been able to maintain its existence for more than 2 decades as reading which is still popular among young people. Young people not only consume Conan's Comic reading texts, but also do transaction processes with these reading texts which are then contextualized in the lives of young people. Therefore, qualitative research uses reception analysis method with a cultural studies perspective. This study wants to see more about how readers interpret the reading, internalize the text to apply it in everyday life. With the help of Reader Response Theory from Louise Rosenblatt this study wanted to find out the role of the reader in giving reception to the reading texts. This study produces two types of readers namely, reference reader and entertain reader.  Keywords: young people, reading Conan's comics, reception, cultural studies, reader response theory
