Abstract :

Information sharing behaviour is one way  that can be used to get the information needs of a person.Information needs is to be different from each other, as well as the information needs of high school teenagerswho assumed as a net generation. The emergence of this generation has given changes to the system in thecommunity. The changes are also seen in the behavior of sharing information. With leading technology, todaysharing activity can be done virtually or through social media.Through social media, one can more easilyobtain and share any information desired. Basically, information sharing behavior is a social behavior which inthis activity need for the relationship between social actors or in the context of information sharing is an actor.Therefore, this activity is a form of social behavior, it is necessary to have the social capital as a barrier againstwhat should be done or not to do. This research uses descriptive quantitative method to describe how the behavior of adolescents netgeneration of information sharing through social media as well as to describe the information needs of theyouth. Results from this research that social capital still plays a role in all the actions of the teenager net generation including on the information sharing behaviour through social media despite the current socialmedia and technology have provided a free and open space for them.
