Abstract :

Abstract Chronically and terminally ill patients mostly suffer from physical, emotional, social, and spiritual pain. Until now, most of the society including some part of the medical health professionals are reluctant to discuss about dying and still emphasis on the curative treatment. To little was done for the terminally ill suffering particularly to overcome the spiritual problems. But in the last decade there are many new studies and researches that highlight the importance of spiritual beliefs in the end of life care. Spiritual and cultural beliefs would influence the health care decision making. So it is important that all health care professionals are able to discuss spiritual beliefs particularly as a part of the end of life care and as an ethical obligation that fulfill the consensus of The American College of Physicians.
