Abstract :

This thesis will take the focus on the GP Ansor political Participation in the NU party victorious winning during the 1955 election in Sidoarjo. The thesis research only covers the year 1953-1955. In 1953, GP Ansor Sidoarjo branch was established and faced with political matters. In 1952, the NU stated secession from Masyumi and was required to engage in practical politics in the face of elections 1955. This phenomenon generated transitional changes in the youth movement, which was initially an organisation that is engaged in propaganda, social and religious issues, before, finally became a political movement.This research discusses the political role of the GP Ansor and the NU which were initially not prepared to engage in political activities. The NU then detached itself from Masyumi and engaged in political practices in the 1955 elections. This resulted in the entire autonomous body (Banom) of the NU also preparing the elections to secure its main organization in order for the NU to win GP Ansor Sidoarjo. GP Ansor Sidoarjo contributed in the 1955 election by creating Muballig Corps (A kind of campaigners) who held a campaign trip across the area.
