Abstract :

This study examines the Housing the Poor: Housing Tandes I in Surabaya period 1974 to 1984. The rapid population growth leaves many problems, one of which housing shortages. In the early 1970s the settlement was built and used only for the residence of the upper middle class people who have high social status. As a result, the middle class in the sense that poor people living in the slums But these conditions are exacerbated because slums have mushroomed in the city of Surabaya thus the need for the existence of a housing development and regulation of the poor in the city of Surabaya
