Abstract :

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between adaptations of stress and the tendency  academic  demands  on  students  of  Faculty  of  Medicine,  Hang  Tuah  University.  Type  of research used in this study was correlational quantitative research, because this study was held to find a relationship between two variables and can be statistically analyzed to answer the research hypothesis.  Based  on  product  moment  correlation  analysis  between  the  adjustment  to  the  academic demands  and  the  tendency  of  stress  of  students,  it  is  obtained  the  result  that  r   =  -0.403  at  a xy significance level (p) = 0.000(p <0.01, which means significant). This means that the adjustment to the  academic  demands  have  a  negative  correlation  with  stress  tendency.  The  contributions  of effective adjustment to the academic demands is  16.2% indicating that there were approximately 83.8%  of  other  factors  that  influence  the  tendency  of  stress  of  students.  The  other  influencing  factors are the environmental factors, personality factors, type A behavior patterns, cognitive factors and socio-cultural  factors.
