Abstract :

The purpose of this study was to determine the fine motor skills in preschool children in TunasBangsa kindergarten Surabaya based on Bender Gestalt test. Fine motor skills develop in preschoolages. The participant of this research was 30 students of Tunas Bangsa Kindergarten. Thisstudy used purposive sampling techniques, in which the sample characteristics has determinedand known based on certain characteristics. The result of the maturity of the fine motor skills isas followed: 1) 58.6% of the sampling (17 children) are above the average category between 90-95percentile; 2) 31% (9 children) are high average category between 75-80 percentile; 3) 10.3% (3children) are higher than the average between 40-60 percentile. From the result of this study, theauthors suggest the parents and teachers to pay more attention to the fine motor skillsdevelopment of the early age children.
