Abstract :

Catfish (Clarias sp.) is a commodity that is very popular among the people of Indonesia. Increased production of catfish resulted in extra land area of cultivation and use of water, so it needs to be a need for a technology in catfish farming with high stocking density that can be applied to a narrow land and lack of water resources with a pattern of effective and efficient management. The technology has been widely adopted by farmers to overcome the problem of limited land is cultivated with Aquaponics system. But the organic material in the bottom of the water experiencing buildup. Efforts to maintain the water quality is by probiotics. The benefits of probiotics for fish can be through the mechanism of the protective function, ie the ability of bacteria to inhibit pathogenic bacteria in the digestive tract and the formation of colonization of probiotics in the digestive tract. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different probiotics on Aquaponics system against FCR and biomass catfish and know the best commercial probiotic. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Airlangga University. Using the experimental method with a completely randomized design. The treatment used is without probiotic treatment (P0) and with the addition of different probiotics are probiotics A (P1), probiotics B (P2) and Probiotics C (P3). Analysis of the data processed by ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results of this study are different probiotics in the Aquaponics system affect the FCR and biomass catfish. FCR lows (0.9908) and the biomass was highest (2.510) contained in the P2 treatment. FCR highest (1.5150) and the lowest biomass (1,654) contained in treatment P0 (control).
