Abstract :
Koi fish (Cyprinus carpio) is one of ornamental fish that get atention from East Java goverment for the development of aquaculture. Problem fish aquaculture is also related with the disease that could cause fish mortality. Cause fish disease is Argulus. Argulus can also serve as vectors of viruse or bacteria that commonly cause disease in fish. The aim of the research is to know the prevalence and intensity of Argulus in koi fish that is reared in Kemloko Village, Nglegok Village and Penataran Village. The research data could be referenced and suggestion to control and to treat parasitic disease caused by Argulus. The samples were collected in March 2012. Parasites were identified in Research Center of Biology Cibinong, West Java and Teaching Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Airlangga University. The result showed that during tests carried out samples by koi fish Kemloko Village, Nglegok Village, Penataran Village was Argulus japonicus species was found. The result of the prevalence of the number of samples taken in the Kemloko Village pond I showed respectively 50% and pond II showed respectively 44%, prevalence of the number of samples taken in the Nglegok Village pond I showed respectively 48% and pond II showed respectively 46% while prevalence of the number of samples taken in the Penataran Village pond I showed respectively 52% and pond II showed respectively 48%. The results of the intensity of the number of samples taken in the Kemloko Village pond I showed respectively 1,08 and pond II showed respectively 1,09, intensity of the number of samples taken in the Nglegok Village pond I showed respectively 1,04 and pond II showed respectively 1,04 while prevalence of the number of samples taken in the Penataran Village pond I showed respectively 1,08 ank pond II showed respectively 1,08.
