Abstract :
This journal discusses about the normalization of diplomatic relations among United States of America (USA) and Cuba in 2013-2016. Conflictual situation between the two countries has been going on since the cold war period. Since the end of the leadership of Fidel Castro in Cuba and the presence of the first black US president, Barack Obama, observers see potential for good relations between the two countries will be established. In 2013, according involvement of Canada and the Vatican as mediator, began the process of normalization of diplomatic relations. In December 2014, the speech of each president marks normal diplomatic relations. And then, in July-August 2015, the two countries agreed to reopen diplomatic representative offices in each country. Symbolically, President Barack Obama's visit to Cuba in March 2016 which is the first state visit of the president of the United States since 1926. The research raises the success of normalization of diplomatic relations the United States and Cuba seen from the factors that affect the process of normalization of the two countries. By looking at rational selection of the two countries, the United States and Cuba have agreed to end the conflict.
