Abstract :
This research will unravel the territorial issues that occur between the major countries in East Asia, namely Japan and China in 2010 and 2013 and then examine the efforts taken by the Government of Japan. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative analysis, namely the interpretation of the data and statements obtained through the collection of data that is associated with the theories, concepts, and propositions that have been selected by the author. Through a framework consisting of a security dilemma by Robert Jervis, and the theory of alliances by Glenn H. Snyder of the security dilemma and dependence partner in the alliance. The argument presented in the conflict resolution Senkaku Islands is working to alleviate the aggressiveness with China through dialogue and negotiation which means it does not directly establish the sovereignty of the Senkaku Islands as Japanese territory.
