Abstract :

ABSTRACT In 2002, Indonesia had 15,5 million women over 50 years old and started to get menopause. The prediction of the number of women who live in the menopause period are 30,3 million in 2020. The purpose of this research measured the husband support for menopause women and analyzed the level of anxiety when women got the menopause period. The population was 40–50 year women that has passed skrining process in polindes Tebalo Manyar Gresik. This research was conducted with a cross sectional design. Research samples were taken from the population by simple random sampling. Data collected by interview questionnaire about husband support and anxiety level of pre menopause. The independent variable was husband support while the dependent variable was the level of anxiety. Those variables were analyzed by Spearman correlation test. The result of this research showed that most respondents (76,3%) had no anxiety and another respondents (68,4%) had no support from their husband in the menopause period. The result of statistical significance was p = 0,020 ( p = 0,05), rs = –0,376 meant there was correlation between husband support and women’s anxiety level in pre menopause period. The conclusion was if the husband support was low, it would affect to anxiety level. So the husband support is very important in reducing the anxiety level of his wife in menopause period.
