Abstract :

This study was aimed to determine the effect of Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri, Linn.) in increasing the number of total leukocytes and leukocyte counts of Eimeria tenella infected broiler. The study used 28 broiler chickens without feeding with coccidiostat which was divided into 4 treatments with each group containing seven chickens. As a negative control group A, group B as a positive control, group C was given simplicia Meniran performed on 21 day old chickens and chickens were also infected by Eimeria tenella oocysts at the age of 24 days with a dose of 5000 oocysts / tail. Group D was given with the provision of Simplicia Meniran Eimeria tenella infection in chickens aged 24 days with an infection dose of 5000 oocysts / tail. Giving Simplicia Meniran done every day by per oral. Blood sampling was done in 5 days after the chickens were infected with Eimeria tenella from the brachial vein for examination in the laboratory. Data was analyzed using ANOVA then followed by the LSD Test. The results suggest there is increasing in the number of total leukocytes and lymphocytes increasing in number of heterophile and broilers infected with Eimeria tenella
