Abstract :

Analgesic drugs or oral or topical pain reliefs are used to treat many kind of pain, it is ready in many deliveries, such as cream, oil, also transdermal patch that is in Indonesia is widely known as “koyo”. Koyo is chosen by the society because it is simple, easy and comfortable to use, it is also easy to get as it does not need any prescription. Koyo contains active ingredient that can cause unfavorable side effects, a correct understanding about how to get, to use, to store, and to dispose koyo in the right way is needed so that the side effect doesnot occur. In this case, a survei to 60 responden (people that ever and/or use koyo in Dupak Sub-District, Surabaya), was done to find out about the society’s knowledge about how to get, to use, to store, and to dispose koyo in the right way. Combination of questionnaire and direct interview to responden were used in the survei. Based on the results, the society had understood about how to get and to store koyo in the right way. However,others had not understood about how to use and dispose koyo in the right way.
