Abstract :

Halitosis or unpleasant breath is one of Hygiene-Related Oral Disorder. Halitosis can wreak not only in patients but others and can affect the social life someone like a shame, avoid the association of social and decrease in self-confidence. The purpose of this study was to look the knowledge of Gubeng Klingsingan community about the effort to keep oral health as handling halitosis. This research was a crosssectional study using accidental sampling method. Amount of respondents obtained was 100 people. The research instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of 17 questions and had been tested the face validity of the Gubeng Klingsingan community. Score for correct answer = 1 and false = 0. The total scores of the questionnaire used was 0-17. The average of total questionnaire scores obtained from this study was 11,05 ± 2,05. The average total scores indicated that the general knowledge of respondents about halitosis and mouthwash was quite good.
