Abstract :

Iranian nuclear proliferation has the potency to destabilize the region and a crisis between Teheran and Washington relationship since the latter has been suspicious such a program carries out a hidden agenda. The resolution of the Security Council seems does not work due to different approaches and interests among the members of the Council. Yet the tension should be eased to avoid any further harmful impacts to the world security in general. As a member of non-permanent Security Council in 2007-2008, Indonesia has the moral responsibility to find the best way to end the crisis by utilizing its strategic position during the membership. Indonesia needs to strengthen its diplomacy and foreign policy performance through its role in the council.
