Abstract :

he  paper  discusses  the  response  of  the  postcolonial  society  upon  the intensification  of  education  and  pro-western  mindset  planted  by  the colonialists. Subjects target is a society in post-colonial countries which have experienced  behavioural  changes  due  to  intensive  and  a  long  period  of colonialism. Intensification of colonialism left a strong historical  trace in the system of education in post-colonial societies. Post-colonial society's response on the matter is very diverse: rejection, acceptance and compromise. But one thing  is  the  same,  post-colonial  people  who  live  in  different  countries  is  the subject of a target of values planted by Western education, in a large part did not compatible with local values. Asymmetrical relationship formed during the colonial period has created a world of its own for the colonized, which tends to be  positioned  as  marginal/periphery  and  dependent  on  the  former  colonial countries.  Most  of  the  cases  in  this  paper  observe  education  in  Africa,  as  in most part Africa has historically suffered from intensive colonial occupation.
