Abstract :

was changed according to government regulation number 51 of 1993. According to act of the Republic of Indonesia number 23 of 1997 regarding Environmental Management, the government regulation number 51 of 1993 has to be changed to government regulation number 27 of 1997. The important material is the wipe ring out all of the AMDAL commission at the Environmental Ministry Office and changed to the Center of Evaluation Commission. The most important things at the government regulation number 27 of 1997 are open information and role of community. AMDAL is composed procedures such as impact identification and action plan have to analyze basic environmental condition, prediction and evaluation of important impact and also direction of environmental monitor and management plan. To implement environmentally sustainable development, the practice of AMDAL management should be changed to be self-management system. The implementation of that system such as the undertaker has to develop Voluntary Environment Practice Code (VEPC) and Polluter Pays Principle System (PPPS).
