Abstract :
Activities in a hospital is very complex including medical and non medical services which in delivering these functions are produce wastes in form medical and non medical wastes. The purposes of this research is to analyze the waste management implementation of solid wastes (medical and non medical) by comparing with the standard procedure (PROTAP) that apply in District Hospital of Blambangan, Banyuwangi. The research results being obtained that are the solid wastes being classify into 2 types which is medical and non medical. The wastes management include the piling, temporary storing, transporting the waste to TPS, collection and termination. The solid wastes management (medical and non medical) conducted by the officers of environment hygiene sanitation unit, but the process of wastes transport to TPS are conducted by the cleaning service staff which supposed to be conducted by the nurses of each rooms, because the sanitation unit already have make rules that the wastes transport must be conducted by the nurses. The termination of wastes (non medical) are conducted by transporting the wastes to TPA Ketapang Banyuwangi, thus, for medical wastes being incinerated at incinerator located at environmental hygiene sanitation unit of Bapelkesmas RSUD Blambangan. It can be concluded that there is inappropriate of 8 items from 15 items of PROTAP being mentioned. Therefore the hospital management has to evaluate between the implementation with the PROTAP being regulated in order to make the management process became even better.
