Abstract :
This research is motivated by the problems of sexual harassment and discrimination against children with special needs, especially in children with mental retardation who have low cognitive abilities, so its ability to identify the things that lead to sexuality any less. This study discusses the construction parents about sexual education post-puberty in adolescent girls with mental retardation in SLB-c Putra Mandiri Surabaya. The focus in this study were researchers raise the issue of how the parents of young women with mental retardation in disseminating the post-puberty sexual education.This study used qualitative research methods. As in this study uses the theory of social construction of thought Peter L. Berger to answer the first research problems, and using the theory of George Herbert Mead associated with the developmental stage of the child to answer the second research problem. In this study, using a constructivism approach. Then the technique of determining the informants in this study using snowball technique relying on key informant to obtain information related to the research topic.The results of this study that older people with a high educational level ie S1 to S2 interpret and disseminate sexual education post-puberty in young girls with mental retardation in more detail in disseminating it. Then the construction and socialization detail on sexual education post-puberty in adolescent girls with mental retardation also occurs in parents with socio-economic conditions were quite good. Then the construction and the process of socialization by parents about sexual education post-puberty in adolescent girls with mental retardation can also be seen from the level their retardation which children parent-child moderate to mild mental retardation easier to convey an understanding of sex education is also getting easier comprehension. As for sex education are reviewed in more detail in this study relates to the identification reproduction, changes in physical form, the relationship with the opposite sex, reproductive health, to identify the sexual behaviour of light or heavy.
