Abstract :

Sense of community is a part that is important, each member should have a sense of community so that the community survive and relationships that are running stronger. Community is a collection of some of the people who form a group with the same goal. Developments in information technology led to the relationship's become borderless and trigger a change in the relationship between individuals. In this case the age limit is not internet users. Research conducted in Australia, which demonstrates the use of the Internet can be used as predictors of sense of community in the elderly. Internet as a social technology that can create a relationship. The study proved the relationship between internet use and a sense of togetherness in the community where the high use of the Internet also can increase a sense of community in the elderly (Shum, Shima: 2008). This study discusses the sense of community level if the terms of the intensity of Internet use in a community. Sense of community has four elements used to obtain a measure of the sense of community within a community among which membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, a shared emotional connection. While the intensity of the use of the Internet can be seen by observing the frequency of internet frequently used and long use each time you access the Internet performed by users internet.Data about the sense of community that is obtained through the measuring instrument 2 Sense of Communty Index (SCI-2). This study aims to measure the level of sense of community in the community Ex-Bank Duta Surabaya and sense of community linkages with the intensity of Internet usage. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique using total sampling conducted at 30 community members Ex-Bank Duta Surabaya. The sample in this study is that community members Ex-Bank Duta Surabaya who are active users of social media in the community of ExBankDuta online. Based on the data obtained can be seen that the level of senseof community in thecommunity Ex-BankDutaSurabaya isclassifiedinthecategoryof fairlywell,itisevidencedbytheacquisition of elements that build the sense of community. In this stage of the intensity of use of the internet, community members belong to the characteristics of the Internet users are heavy users addicted to the intensity of use of the internet more than 40 hours / month
