Abstract :

The study was done in Surabaya using 18 broiler chicken. Those amount were divided into 3 groups and each group containing 6 broilers. The first group as a control (P0) was given feed without EM-4. The feed + 2 ml of EM-4 / kg feed was given to the second group (P1) and feed + 4 ml of EM-4 / kg feed were given to the last group (P2). All the broilers were kept in individual battery cages. During the experiment, the feed consumption and the weight gain were recorded to calculate the feed conversion. In order to know the protein digestibility, on the last week of the experiment, the faeces were collected and measured daily, then were analyzed to determine the content of the crude protein then found the protein digestibility. In this experiment Completely Randomized Design had been used to analyse the data statistically. The result revealed that Effective Microorganism (EM-4) added up to 4 ml / kg feed did not (P>0,05) increase the crude protein digestibility.
