Abstract :

Society in East of Madura archipelago has a specific culture and character. Geographically, thoseislands are separated from Madura island which generates the islands as the place of acculturation amongstMadura, Bajo, Mandar, and Bugis tribes. This diversity has resistance to the conflict. Therefore, communityradio might be one of alternatives to prevent and minimize the conflict. This research used constructivismparadigm. Method used in this research was descriptive research with qualitative analysis. The resultshowed that design of the content of radio community for the society in archipelago had to be based onreality of the society diversity. The design contents of radio broadcasting had to be created with genuinevalues which existed and developed in the society. Radio program had to be situated with the need andpotency of the society. This could be handled in group from multicultural tribes and ethnics. The designshould be based on the participation of the multicultural society that created simultaneous understandingnaturally and minimized conflict among ethnics in which the program could be a sustainable program.
