Abstract :
Forty-eight political parties that participated in previous general election generally can be classified into dimensions as follows: religion, nationalism, social class, and ideological pattern. These compositions are vary and could not only be understood in terms of ideological pattern, social class pattern or state-society conflict pattern. 1999 general election’s majority vote result showed that society tend to have conservativism un their political activities. This tendency is based on strong political identification in general election process and politics in Indonesia. This pattern yields ideological pattern tendency which in turn will affect the existence of political violence.
