Abstract :
This study aims to analyze and assess (1) the effect of wages on employee work motivation, (2) the effect of work motivation on employee performance, and (3) the effect of wages on employees performance in manufacturing enterprises in Makassar Industrial Area. The populations in this study are all operational employees (executive level) of 20 manufacturing industry in the Makassar Industrial Area. The sample of 300 workers who were taken by random sampling. Model analysis of the data in this study use SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The results of this study indicate that wages and work motivation affect performance signifikanterhadap workers in manufacturing in the Makassar Industrial Area. The results indicate that the higher the wage received by workers, then the motivation of workers tends to increase, and the higher the perceived motivation of workers, then the performance of workers tends to increase; later received the higher wage workers, then the worker's performance showed significant improvement.
