Sociodrama effect on emotional development stimulation in preschool children

Abstract :

 Introduction:Preschool is an important phase for the development of emotional. If the development of emotional is good, it will help child to manage their emotional, develop imagination and intelectual. One of the methods to increase the development of emotional in preschool children is sociodramatic play. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of sociodramatic play to the development of emotional in preschool children. Method: Design used in this study was pre-experimental design one group pre-post test design. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling that based on inclusion and exclusion criteria which consisted of 20 respondents. Data was collected by observation. Then, data was analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with significance level 0,05.Result: The result shows that after sociodramatic play, the development of emotional in respondents were increase. Respondents having high emotional development were increase from 0% to 55%, having medium emotional development were decrease from 55% to 40%, and having low emotional development were decrease from 45% to 5%. Quantitatif analysis showed that sociodramatic play affect the development of the emotional (p=0,000). Discussion: It can be concluded that sociodramatic play has significantly effect to the development of preschool children’s emotional. Further studies can do research about the effect of sociodramatic play on the achievement motivation in preschool children.
