Abstract :

This research focuses about the life and cogitation concept (fatwa) of a religious figure from Islamic Organization NU (Nahdlatul Ulama), KH. Baidlowi bin Abdul Aziz. Figure who was born in 1880 gives an influence of his cogitation in history of NU in Indonesia. Because came of Islamic boarding house family, KH. Baidlowi spend his education in religion sector in Indonesia and abroad, Saudi Arabian. More than twenty years having education process, KH. Baidlowi continues dedication of his father in managing Al-Wahdah Islamic boarding school. His capability in religion sector, especially in Fiqh makes him as Syuriah chief of Nahdlatul Ulama and Thoriqoh Mu’tabaroh association until his death in 1970, in Lasem. In this research, the researcher finds that KH. Baidlowi as NU figure has national rule. His religious advice about Waliyyul Amri Addhoruri Bis-syaukah in 1952 gives strong legitimation to Ir. Soekarno as a legal President when rebellion of DI/TII Kartosoewirjo head is run. This religious advice be the social agreement for all of the Islamic expert from the Islamic classes variety in national Islamic expert conference, in 1954. Although his capability has been recognized nationally, KH.Baidlowi stays to choose managing Al Wahdah Islamic boarding school in Lasem.
