Abstract :

This article discusses the development of discotheques and nightclubs in Surabaya in 1970-1994. It is more point of phenomenon photographed in Surabaya such as the growth and development of evening entertainment such as night clubs, spas, karaoke, casinos, and discos to meet the need for entertainment after work and activities during the day. Discotheques and night world became one of the locations westernization local communities starting with the introduction of words or foreign utterance, as well as music and songs Bara Rapid advances mentioned above lacks the shift in lifestyle among discotheque. First discotheque is a unique place and out of reach of young children and the community, the more likely visitors discos adults and people who have a certain economic background. But along with the time, place discotheques and nightclubs in Surabaya many groups of young children and teens can visit discos, even now synonymous with trend gathering place for teenagers.
