Abstract :

Java green peafowl (Pavo muticus muticus) Linnaeus 1758, is one of three species of peafowl. Like the other birds that are found in the tribe Phasianidae, green peafowl Green has a beautiful coat. Pavo muticus muticus is a subspecies of green peafowl, spreading only in the island of Java. These birds are dispersely scattered with relatively small population sizes in a variety of habitat types. Java green peafowl are present in some areas with protected status (Nature Reserves, Wildlife and National Parks), as well as areas that are not protected (production forest, plantation). Pressure on the life of the green peafowl is quite high, both in population (theft in their habitat/illegal trade), and habitat (which is under pressure due to the narrowing of the habitat resulting from the development and expansion of other function of the forest). The study of Reproductive Manipulation of Java Peafowl (Pavo muticus muticus) species Java Green Peacock (Pavo muticus) captured from the wild and the conservation-bred in East Java is aimed at investigating the impact of conservation on the molecular genetic changes of Java Green Peacock (Pavo muticus). This study utilized samples from 10 (ten) wild Java Green Peacocks (Pavo muticus) from the forest and 6 (six) Java Green Peacocks (Pavo muticus) bred in the conservation in East Java. In Java peafowl (Pavo muticus muticus) female breeder Four young breeders in temporary quarantine after receiving treatment in one community with male. Adult Sex :Males 2.0 yearsFemales 1.5 years Eggs: Number of eggs: 4 - 5/per female/once spawn Dimensions: Diameter short an average of 6 cm, diameter of the average length is 8.5 cm (as big as goose eggs).Testing is done using a flashlight (if the eggs is flashlighted at the air cavity, there is black part and there is a section of vein, showing that the eggs have been fertilized)F1 laid 9 eggs, hatched 8 eggs, and there were still 4 eggs laid on stage 3 of the F1 breeder tested with the hatching incubator and successfully hatched 2 eggs (50 %). December 2012, the eggs were layed back from F1 that had been subjected to reproductive manipulation. There were 11 eggs and 10 hatched.Traditional hatching: Fourteen eggs are laid to a village fowl, 1 village fowl (whose original egg is replaced with peafowl eggs) can incubate 4 eggs after being injected with ND (New Castle Disease) vaccine. The incubation time is 28-32 days old.
