Abstract :
This research was purposed to determine the effectiveness of a combination of glutaraldehyde and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride that used as a disinfectant against the total number of bacteria on layer chicken cages. This research used 12 samples obtained from layer chicken cages swab results before spraying disinfectants and 12 samples obtained from the swab layer chicken cages after spraying. The research method used VCT (Viable Count Technique) using the standard dropping pippetes. The observed parameters were colonies that grow on the nutrient agar being calculated as total number of bacteria. The result showed that combination of glutaraldehyde and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride effective decreased bacteria after spraying than before spraying desinfectants.
