Abstract :
The study was aimed to evaluate the effects of continous infusion of isotonic phosphate solution on the plasma inorganic phosphate (Pi), calcium (Ca), parathyroid hormone (PTH), and calcitriol concentrations in clinically healthy adult goats. Plasma Pi, Ca, total protein, parathyroid hormone and calcitriol concentrations were measured during the infusion of isotonic sodium phosphate and 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The continous phosphate infusions resulted in the significant increase of plasma Pi concentrations (from the level of 2,1 ± 0,2 mM at the start of infusion to the level of 7,3 ± 1,9 mM at the end of infusion, p
