Abstract :

The main purpose of this study is to evaluation the relation between amount of motility and viability with difference thawing duration. This study used 28 straw frozen semen goats with 4 difference treatments, semen that was thawing on 27°C for 10 second (P0), P1 semen was thawed at 37ºC for 10 second, P2 was thawed at 37ºC for 20 second, and P3 was thawed at 37ºC for 30 second.Viability observation using eosin negrosin solution and for motility observed sperm movement that move forward or progressive.Based on data analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variant for all treatment and test followed by Hotteling’s Trace 5%, the result indicated that there is significant difference (p<0,05) between motility and viability in sperm post-thawing of Peranakan Ettawa goat with difference duration. Thawed at 27ºC for 10 seond showed lowest percentage on motility and viability
